The Piping · Obsidian

380g/m² cotton-blend fleece. Hood. Kangaroo pocket. Two lines of white contrast piping running the full length of both raglan seams — from the hood hem to the cuff. The piping is not decoration. It is the architecture of the garment. Remove it and you have a hoodie. Keep it and you have The Piping.

The large ÉV fills the chest. The lines frame it on both sides. The composition was designed, not arrived at.

Fabric Cotton-blend fleece. 380g/m². Between The Founding and The Verdict in weight — heavier than a standard hoodie, lighter than the cardigan. The main body has the brushed interior quality of considered fleece. The contrast piping is 100% polyester — a deliberate material choice. Polyester holds the white with a precision and consistency that cotton cannot maintain over time. The lines stay sharp. The contrast stays true.

Construction Raglan sleeve construction — the seam runs from the underarm to the hood rather than across the shoulder. This is why the piping works: the raglan seam gives the line somewhere to travel, somewhere with purpose. Both sleeves carry a double line of white contrast piping from hood junction to ribbed cuff. The lines are parallel, consistent in width, and do not deviate. Hood sits naturally without a drawstring — the same decision made in The Founding, for the same reason. Kangaroo pocket flush-set. Ribbed cuffs and hem in matching obsidian.

Graphic Large ÉV monogram centred chest in bone — the same scale and placement as The Founding. The piping on both sides of the chest creates a visual frame around the monogram that no other piece in the collection has. The ÉV is the subject. The piping is the composition. Edition number on interior hem. Full brand print on interior front panel.

Care Hand wash preferred in cool water. Machine wash 30°C gentle cycle if necessary. No bleach. No tumble dry. Press reverse side only at low heat — never on the piping, never on the print. The contrast fabric responds differently to heat than the main body. Press both separately and carefully. The integrity of the white lines against obsidian is what makes this piece — protect it accordingly.

Edition The Piping exists in obsidian only. The contrast is between the white lines and the dark ground — a bone colourway would remove the tension entirely. Numbered on the interior hem. When the edition closes, this specific relationship between obsidian and white — the lines, the scale of the monogram, the raglan construction — does not return. No restock. No exceptions.
